The name of proposed new university comprising seven government colleges has been finalised. ‘Dhaka Central University’ will conduct the activities.
The name was finalised at a meeting held at UGC on Sunday with the representatives of the seven colleges and UGC Chairman SMA Faiz, among others.
“Among the proposed names, we finalised ‘Dhaka Central University’ for seven colleges. This name will now send to the education ministry. After it is passed by the Advisory Council, its ordinance will be issued with the consent of the President,” said UGC secretary Dr Fakhrul Islam.
The seven colleges are Dhaka College, Eden Mohila College, Government Shaheed Suhrawardy College, Kabi Nazrul Government College, Begum Badrunnessa Government Girl’s College, Government Bangla College, and Government Titumir College.
