Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has called on Ghanaians to put the team’s failed 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualification behind them and focus on the future.
Addo acknowledged that Ghana’s performance in the AFCON qualifiers was disappointing, but emphasized that they cannot change the past. “We can’t change the past. We have to look forward and use this position in which we are now to qualify for the World Cup.”
The Black Stars have fared better in the World Cup qualifiers under Addo’s leadership, winning all four games he has been in charge. Ghana’s latest win was a 3-0 victory over Madagascar, which stretched their lead at the top of Group I.
With this momentum, Addo is urging the team to stay focused and continue working hard to secure their spot in the World Cup. “Like I said, it is not done yet. We still have to work hard. This is football, [and] things can turn very fast,” he said.
