While their teenage sensation and €3million man Mason Melia hogs attention and headlines, for St Patrick’s Athletic boss Stephen Kenny it’s the longest-serving player at the club who is making a difference and turning the Saints into real title contenders.
Chris Forrester (32) missed the start of the season due to injury but since his return to fitness he has played a huge role for the Saints, his latest contribution being the opening goal in Friday’s 2-0 win away to Cork City, where fellow midfielder Brandon Kavanagh scored the second, both goals coming late in the first half.
